ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SWAP

You will need an rack from a mk5/mk6/a3/compatible car.

You will need a mk5/electric ps 07k alternator as belt routing without the ps pump will spin the alternator backwards. You could use an fsi alternator but it would have an extra rib. This can resolved with a pulley swap or could be ran as is. Or upgrade to the porsche/vw 3.6 alt with a higher amp output.

You will need a mk5/electric ps 07k accessory belt.

You can choose to reuse your existing accessory bracket but it'll need the p/s pump standoffs cut off in order to clear an aftermarket intake manifold. Or you can use a mk5/electric ps 07k accessory bracket.

Get a rack with the sub harness.

It will have a large ground cable you can bolt to the p/s fire wall ground stud. This is right behind the battery on the fire wall.

It will also have a large power lead, this can be ran to the engine bay fuse box. You can bolt this to a 12v stud on the front of the box/ add a 80 amp fuse.

It will also have a 3/6 pin plug.

PIN 1 / 2 ARE NOT REQUIRED, they just add the functionality to adjust steering assist. You won't have any CEL/issues/ect if this isn't wired.

PIN 1 is CAN lo, this can be tapped into pin 67 of the 94 pin ecu connector.

PIN 2 is CAN hi, this can be tapped into pin 68 of the 94 pin ecu connector.

PIN 4 is 12v switched, this can be also ran to the engine bay fuse box and using a fuse tap to get switched 12v from an existing fuse.
